The News at 1609

Greetings One and all

So then there is much to get through today – being a bit of a bumper mailout of news like stuff)

Without further ado

1) Lazy Acre @ By:Larm festival

It started something of a scando-love affair for us 12 months ago and so we are super excited to be heading back to By:Larm Festival in Oslo again next month. There is a whole bunch of label related stuff going on including:

· The Little Hands of Asphalt Live – Thu 18th Feb @ Revolver
· The Little Hands of Asphalt Live – Saturday 20th Feb @ Samfunnsalen
· Solvor Vermeer Live – Friday 19th Feb @ Revolver (this is a joint label showcase we are lucky enough to be involved with with the guys from Spoon Train. Also playing here are CCTV and Monzano)
· Pipedream Live – Wed 17th @ John Dee (I love this place!)

We are also planning a couple of other super secret little shows as well which should be BEYOND cool

From the 18th when the festival starts there will also be a download sampler available from www.lazyacrerecords.webs.com/bylarm.html which you might wanna check out!

3) A New Signing!! Part Two...

Ive been wanting to be able to announce this for a while but im very very very very happy to announce that we have finally stopped flirting round the fringes and gone and ruddy well signed SHARKS TOOK THE REST.

These guys are a Newcastle based band who play a beguiling mix of Folk, Electronica & Trip Hop – they were my absolute favourite new band of 2009 and we cant wait to get them out there some more this year.

Head on over to www.myspace.com/sharkstooktherest to check em out for yourself – their song “Isobel” for is just... stunningly beautiful... i have a live version here that would make you cry...

In the meantime news will be forthcoming shortly about a Split EP in the works which will be their first ever release... exciting times indeed

4) The Little Hands of Asphalt Session on Balcony TV...

... will be aired next Wednesday (3rd Feb). Tune into www.balconytv.com to see a short interview and a windswept version of the album track “Sex & Loneliness”. There are some other very cool live sessions over there from Fyfe Dangerfield, Mumford & Sons and an absolute truckload of other good stuff...

Our thanks to Greg & Layla @ Balcony for this (Well be sad to see you go greg!)

5) Neon Magazine Feature

If you are lucky enough(!) to live in the fine county of Northamptonshire then keep an eye out for the new issue (issue #4) of Neon Magazine dotted around the place for an interview / feature on the label as well as an exclusive sampler download and a competition to win some LazyAre Swaggage

6) Uno Moller in the 7oh3 Podcast

Steve and the gang at the 7oh3 (Coventrys finest rising live music night from all accounts) have been in touch to wax lyrical about how immense Uno Moller is. Of course to us, this is no suprise but what was a suprise was that the guys will be featuring Unos track “How to Lead You Home” in next weeks podcast. Keep your eyes and ears locked into www.7oh3.com

7) Dont forget now...

You can still pick up your free copy of My Little Ponys ep over at www.fullstoptobadpop.blogspot.com . weve been genuinely overwhelmed by the numbers of people wanting to check the band out (weve had to reupload it twice as the traffic kept crashing the storage site) so thanks if you have already downloaded it... if not then get clickety clicking to join in the fun!!

While your there you can also still pick up free eps from The Little Hands of Asphalt, Pipedream and The James Magic - there will be some interesting developments to the Full Stop campaign over the coming weeks so keep on standby for some very exciting news

Phew....

Thats all for now my pretties. Time for a cup of tea methinks...

Lots of Love
Team LA xx

Oh – PS – you may or may not know, this but Sjur (Little hands) is also the singer in Monzano – they have a new album out Feb 15th courtesy of the super cool kids at Spoon Train Audio (www.spoontrain.no) if you like your indie tinged with pop, electronics and melancholy in equal measure and you have any sense / a pair of working ears you will check it out straight away. I have been listening to it for 3 days at the expense of every other track on my ipod.... its great
